The Idle Writer
Writing Services

I’ve been a professional proofreader, a copywriter, an editor and have written two novels myself. All this experience means that I can catch those missing words, the unnecessary apostrophe, the wrong tense and all the other subtle errors that creep into one’s writing. From morning till night I read everything that’s put in front of me and catch those errors when I don’t even want to – when reading a newspaper or a magazine advert or the back of a cornflakes packet! Here are just some of the items from my CV ...

Anyone who writes knows how hard it is to read your own material as if seeing it for the first time. You know what you intended to write, so when you read it over again your mind’s eye sees what it expects to see – not what is actually there. Basically, you need someone else to read it, too.
Free proofread!
Send me the first chapter of your novel and I’ll proofread it for free - no commitment, no obligation.
Just send a Word doc or RTF file to keith@theidlewriter.com for a free proofread - the grammar, spelling and punctuation - together with any other pertinent thoughts I might have about what I’ve read.
